Now we talked about task management and goal setting so we are on the right track to working in your business with success.
If you are like me tough or also another solopreneur, the tasks ahead can be daunting. What to do and when? What is important and what we can put aside or delegate?
Enters the Eisenhower Matrix - a simple tool that can help you prioritize your tasks and make better use of your time.
The is Developed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Eisenhower Matrix is a decision-making tool that helps you identify which tasks are most important and urgent, and which ones can wait. It's based on the idea that you should focus on the tasks that are both important and urgent first, and then work your way down to the tasks that are less important and urgent.
To use the Eisenhower Matrix, you'll need to divide your tasks into four quadrants:
Do it: These are the tasks that require immediate attention and have a high impact on your life or work. Examples might include client work, finishing an article, spending time with your family, etc. You do you. You know what is important to you. On my do-it, I have client work, tasks related to my next project, and time with family
Schedule it: These are tasks that are important but don't have an immediate deadline. Examples might include planning for the future, learning a new skill, or working on a long-term project.
Delegate it: These are tasks that are urgent, but not particularly important. Examples might include answering emails or taking phone calls that aren't really necessary. If you are a solopreneur might be challenging to delegate when you are alone 🙂 So how this works? First, think of things you don’t like/ don’t know. Me? Bookkeeping is the first choice always to be delegated. Also, can you easily automate any task in Zappier or another tool? Forward some specific email or tweet for example. Try to think about what and how can you delegate and you will find the solution.
Delete it: These are tasks that are neither important nor urgent. Examples might include scrolling through social media or watching TV. We’re all been there. This is when procrastination starts. Before it starts, just delete it
By focusing on the tasks in the first quadrant first, you'll be able to tackle the most important and urgent tasks first. This can help you stay organized and make better use of your time.
Hope this helps you focus on the important tasks for your projects.
